http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/mega_sales_II/ dont know what the i3 is like and for a bit more i could pop a better gfx card in there ..

OR

Taken from the review in Bit-tech.net

Quote:
At just a touch under 3GHz, the new i3-530 is the slowest of the Nehalem-derived CPUs, but it's a lot quicker than a comparably clocked Core 2 CPU such as the Core 2 Duo E8400 - 48 per cent faster in video encoding, for instance. Despite the fact it's only a dual-core chip, it manages to outpace the legendary Core 2 Quad Q6600 at stock speeds in this same test. In fact, you'd need need to overclock the 8400 to over 4GHz to get it to the same pace as the i3-530 when it comes to video. In the multi-tasking test, the i3-530 has less of an advantage, but overall it's still 22 per cent quicker than the stock-clocked E8400, showing a considerable clock-for-clock improvement.

I have the E8400 (with a GTX260) and it happily chews threw MW2 and WOW at full settings.

Well, in my opinion it's always better to build your own system instead of buying a prebuilt one. We'll help you out choosing parts.

Also, if you're getting a new rig - consider keeping your current graphics card (ie not buying a new one right away), then get a decent DX11 chip in there.

Trust me - get something like a 5770 - you'll be able to run MW2 on high - it's beautiful

If you go down the build your own route, I'd recommend checking out this article.

Quote:
a monthly update of systems and parts we know will go well together within a particular budget. Take what you want from each build - from affordable, capable PCs, to gaming behemoths.

I also recomend perusing a copy of Custom PC who do a similar list each month.

When I was in the market for my PC: I found the NVIDIA GTX 275 to be the best value graphics card in bang per buck.

Here's a link to the PC I bought. :thumb

What resolution is your monitor... or are you going to upgrade that as well?

What components do you want to keep I.e hard drives?

nice. The 4850 is a good card so you shouldn't need a new graphics card for a long time.
