Been like this for several days now, ever since I decided I would finally install the darn disc and register the godforsaken gadget.

What I was hoping for was to gain some of that surround sound I originally bought the headphones for, but they apparently decided gaming, music, movies etc wasn't for me to enjoy period.

This is about a Creative HS-950 USB thingamagig, btw.

I feel I've tried it all, including a variety of Google searches, restarting the computer using different sockets, and of course trying almost every bloody setting and checkbox in the recently installed interactive menus...

Please help, anyone who can.

Oh, and I might as well mention that the installation process felt kinda weird and took me maybe an hour or more, it sometimes felt like it was looping, doing the same things over and over again. But it may also have been a result of me checking lots of features for install, I was shown mostly (or consistently, didn't memorize much at the time) different text descriptions for the different installation phases, after all.

Needless to say, I'll be happy to try and answer any questions about this to the best of my ability.
