I might be able to build a new pc. I use a dutch site, called tweakers. They advise for a game pc: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Asus M4A89GTD PRO Kingston ValueRAM KVR1333D3N9K2/4G ( two 2 gig DDR3) Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E I want a cheaper vid card, the one they mention is 266 euro, (355 dollar) and the price is going up. I was thinking about a HD 5770 (1 gig) Any comments to that ? Scroll past the dutch text, to see the specs. http://tweakers.net/reviews/1656/3/twea ... steem.html( the mobo has an IDE connection too, so I can still use my DVD player and DVD burner, although they are allot cheaper these days. Or is it possible to go for a mobo with intergrated vid card ? They also have a list for a high end game machine. Two 5850 in crossfire, and an i7 cpu. ( drool ) And a budget pc, 400 euro ! and that is including a monitor) Tweakers If it ain't broke tweak it. Over-clock as much as possible, to get the highest 3Dmark score. Of course cooling with liquid nitrogen. 3x HD5870 http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=105290http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRzB72IOLHY

I kind of do not put a whole lot of trust in these kind of sites. Most of them try and guide you to the Ultra high end components that there are no games out there yet that need that kind of power... For example check the specs Sapphire 5750 and it does everything today's games needs plus more I will never need. AND it's only 105 EURO (130US) see below the post of my system that i put together hosted 12 players on Steam and have AvP3 graphics maxed out..it never even broke a sweat. Do your own research and put a system together that fits your budget viewtopic.php?f=5&t=992HR

Interesting, I might go for the 5750 then. But the 5770 is not that much more expensive. About 15 - 20 euro's
It's over one hunderd euro's cheaper then a 5850.
And about that site, you can trust them.
They already put down three options.
A budget pc, a game system and a high end game system.
The highend one uses an i7 and two 5850 in crossfire.
But not two 5870, or even more expensive cards.
And the mobo they advise, is not USB 3.0. They also tell you that for 20 euro's more you have about the same mobo, but with USB 3.0
They always look for power for your money, not the most expensive set up.
I am very curious about me hosting a game. 1,5 mb upload and 25MB down.

Bring it on! And I can still blame the lag. I got an email yesterday, and today I got the parts. I did not see any cooling paste, so I went to a shop, to get some. Now Cpu is on the mobo, memory is on the mobo. Installed a asus only card ? into the second vid card slot. If I understand it right, if you do not use this card, your one vid card, wil be connected at 8x and not 16x Next is the power supply, and reading the manual of the mobo, about fan control. This case has 4 fans, two on top, one at the front and one at the back. The mobo has three connections for extra fans, and some fan control program. I also need to sort out the case plugs ?, which go were on the mobo. ( power usb audio ) This case, the dragon lord is awesome. I has brackets for cable management. You basicly only need a srewdriver to place the mobo. Power supply and hard disk, no screws needed, and it clearly designed to prevent vibrations. Removing the side panel is easy, again no screw driver needed.

I am getting there ! I did not know how the connect the power to the mobo. But Tweakers site to the rescue ! It seems I had to remove a cap, and use the two 4 pin connectors. ( along with the other 24 pin ) The manual states, I need to use the 8 pin connector, which did not fit. Not a word on the cap, I had to remove. I now need to build in a dvd drive. That is the last part......

I am very happy with my new pc.
In AvP, D11, I can turn around as fast as I want, no lag.
I also watch streaming sci fi series,
One stream was enough to make my old pc sweat.
Now I can run atleast 3 streams together.
High resolution vids are not a problem any more either.
Half life 2 looks great, so does AvP.
Its funny that I notice, that the hard disk are the slowest parts in the pc.
Copying files, does not go that much faster, compared to my AMD 2500 XP (single core)
I am also very happy about the speed of my new ISP. And it seems my ping in online gaming is fine too.
I Downloaded with bittorent, Suse 11.3 DVD ( linux ) (100% legal, all over the world)
2.9 MB/sec
The DVD took me 30 minutes.
